Hello! My name is Teresa A. Henderson. I am a disabled creator seeking to help end the stigma of mental health disorders through creative storytelling. I’ve been writing for 30 years, mostly in the form of resumes and job descriptions as a manufacturing recruiter. My creative side has been fostered by a local writing group for the past seven years.

Like the characters in my stories, I have a dissociative disorder and am a survivor of trauma. I have spent several years as a volunteer assisting survivors of domestic trafficking as they reentered society and struggled with asserting their agency. My time with them, plus crisis hotline experience, has moved me to champion their efforts to heal. In addition to my advocacy for mental health and trafficking survivors, I am an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and fight for their rights and acceptance.

On the personal side, I love to bake, crochet, and write letters to our elected officials about various human rights matters. My dog and cats graciously permit me to live in their house in upper Westchester County, New York, with my best friend and our adult children.

Teresa lives on a small lake in upper Westchester County, NY, with her best friend, his adult children, two cats, and a dog.
